iPad: Use several apps side by side at the same time
If you want to work even more efficiently with your iPad, you can run several apps side by side and use them simultaneously. We show you what you have to do for it.
iOS 7 and 8: Start iPad apps as a window and use them side by side
It's already commonplace on the computer: each program starts in its own window and you can adjust the size and position as you wish. With a Cydia tweak, this is now also possible on the tablet. To do this, you must first jailbreak your iPad with iOS 7. An app version for iOS 8 is already in the works.
- Then open Cydia and switch to the "Search" tab.
- Enter "OS Experience" in the search field and install the tool of the same name. The multitasking app currently costs just under $ 10.
- After installation, tap "Respring" to restart your iPad. From now on, every app starts in a small window.
- Use the arrows in the top right corner of the respective app window to switch to full-screen mode. On the other hand, if you hold the bar pressed, you can move the app around the screen.
- Swipe the display with several fingers and open the multitasking bar. In the upper area you can now switch between several desktops. So you always have an overview, even with many active apps. It is best to test the many features of "OS Experience" yourself!
iOS 5: Use several iPad apps at the same time
If you have an older iPad model, you don't have to do without the cool multitasking feature. There is a similar app for all devices with an iOS 5 jailbreak. Unfortunately, the tool does not work on iOS 6. In this case, you should better update to the new iOS 7 and install "OS Experience".
- iPad users with iOS 5 jailbreak their device according to these instructions.
- Then start Cydia and search for the tool "Quasar". This currently costs $ 10.
- Restart your iPad after installation.
- Open the Settings app and switch to the "Quasar" tab. Activate the controller at "Enabled". Now every app starts in a gray window.
- Tap "Full Screen" to enlarge the current app. With "Close" you end the program and with "Rotate" you turn the app view. Of course, you can start a new app in the background at any time via the homescreen and use it next to the other.
So that you can continue to enjoy real multitasking even after an update, you should secure the Cydia app. You can find more tips for iOS in our extensive iPhone special that you can order in the CHIP kiosk.
