Connect iPad to wireless keyboard
If you want to use your wireless keyboard on an iPad, you have to connect the two devices. We'll show you how.
Step 1: Disconnect the Wireless Keyboard from the Mac
You only need to do this step if your Mac is currently turned on and connected to the wireless keyboard:
- On the Mac, click the Bluetooth icon in the menu bar at the top right.
- Under "Apple Wireless Keyboard" you will now find the "Disconnect" option. Click on it.
- Then a new connection between the iPad and keyboard can be established.
Step 2: connect the wireless keyboard to the iPad
- Open the "Settings" app on the iPad and activate the function of the same name under the "Bluetooth" category.
- After a few seconds, a device with the name "Keyboard" should appear. If not, turn the wireless keyboard off and on again.
- If you tap the "Keyboard" entry, the two devices are paired.
- To confirm, you have to type in the number displayed on the iPad on the keyboard and confirm with the Enter key.
- The wireless keyboard and iPad are then connected.
