iPad with wifi - online in wifi
Wifi is an abbreviation and stands for "Wireless Fidelity". There is no real statement behind the term, rather it is an artificial word that is based on hi-fi.
- Every iPad offers wifi - even without cellular. This means that you have an internet connection with every iPad, as long as you log into a WiFi network.
- The advantage of an iPad with WiFi is clearly the cost. On the one hand, the devices without cellular are significantly cheaper, on the other hand there are no monthly costs for a mobile phone contract.
Cellular - mobile on the net
Cellular is an Apple-specific term for the cellular connection in the 4G / LTE network.
- Simply put, Cellular in connection with the iPad means that you are online everywhere with a corresponding mobile phone contract and a corresponding SIM card.
- The 4G mobile radio standard is faster than 3G, but not yet as widespread in Germany. So far, only one provider supports the LTE frequency in this country. We have summarized all the important information about LTE for you.
- With a cellular-enabled iPad, you are always online, but mostly only on the 3G network.
- You can recognize cellular iPads by the black cover on the back at the top. The antenna is hidden underneath.
