iPhone 5: "No network" - how to fix the problem
If your iPhone 5 also shows the message "No network", even for hours, here are some steps you should take to get the problem under control.
- Switch on the flight mode in the settings. Wait a few seconds and disable it again. This will restart the network search. You may also be able to try it two or three times in a row.
- Check your SIM card: next to it and then insert it again. Network problems often occur because a normal SIM card has been tailored for microSIM. If you have cut your SIM card yourself, you may want to try a microSIM from your provider.
- Also make sure you have the latest update for your iOS installed. If not, update your iPhone. Such errors are often corrected by updates.
Alternatively: Reset network settings from iPhone
If the above points did not help, you can still try to reset your network settings on the iPhone.
- Go to Settings> General> Reset and then select "Network Settings".
- This resets all settings for networks, including APN and WLAN, as well as network protocols. However, this has no effect on your stored data on the iPhone.
The last option in the case of serious problems is always a complete reset or restoration from a backup: Read how to reset your iPhone in the next tip.
