This practical guide will show you how to reset your iPhone 5 and delete all data from the device.
iPhone 5: Reset Apple phone completely
Please note that resetting will delete all settings and files from your iPhone 5. You should therefore make a backup before you follow the steps below.
- The easiest way to reset iPhone 5 is through the settings. Open this and select the "General" item.
- Scroll all the way down and tap "Reset".
- In the following menu you can either delete individual settings or data, or reset the entire device.
- To delete all data and settings and reset the iPhone 5 to its factory settings, tap on "Delete content & settings".
- Confirm the process by entering your PIN code and tap on the red "Delete iPhone" lettering.
- The iPhone 5 is now completely reset. This process can take several minutes.
- After the process has been completed, you can set up the device from scratch.
