iPhone 5S: Configure login via fingerprint sensor
Configure the new sensor, also called Touch ID, of the iPhone 5S, which enables convenient login with a fingerprint.
Set up login using the fingerprint sensor of the iPhone 5S
To use the fingerprint login, you need a code lock.
- To do this, tap on "Settings", then on "Touch ID & Password". Select "Activate code" above and then enter twice a freely selectable four-digit code for the lock.
- Only now is the "Touch ID" submenu available. Open it and tap on "Add fingerprint".
- Now touch the home button with your finger and follow the instructions of the assistant until the fingerprint is completely captured. You can see this from the red markings on the symbolic imprint. A maximum of five fingers can be scanned.
- In theory, only five fingers can be scanned with Touch ID. With a little trick you can still increase the maximum number of fingers. You can also name fingerprints individually.
