iPhone: Block anonymous calls
Blocking anonymous calls only works on the iPhone via a small detour. We'll show you how it's done.
iPhone: Block anonymous calls
To block callers with suppressed numbers, you must first create a standard contact. This is then blocked on behalf of all anonymous callers. Note: These instructions only work under iOS 7, under iOS 8 it is unfortunately no longer possible to block them.
- Open the "Contacts" app and tap on the plus symbol in the top right corner.
- Enter "anonymous" as the first name and select only a "+" as the phone number.
- Tap "Done" in the top right corner and switch to the "Settings" app.
- Now scroll down a bit and select the "Phone" category.
- Under "Blocked" you can use the "Add contact" button to select the contact "anonymously".
- From now on, all callers with a suppressed number will be blocked.
Block anonymous callers from the provider
The Federal Network Agency has asked operators to offer Anonymous Call Rejection (ACR). In the meantime, O2 has already complied with this - you can have the lock activated free of charge by your provider.
