iPhone: Switch off auto brightness - how it works
The auto brightness under iOS often changes the brightness irregularly. You can also turn off this feature on your iPhone. This is also possible under iOS 11.
Deactivate auto brightness from iOS 7
- Tap the "Settings" in the start menu.
- Then select "Backgrounds & Brightness".
- At this point you can move the slider to the left at "Auto brightness" so that it changes from green to gray.
Switch off auto brightness from iOS 11
Under iOS 11, the auto brightness can no longer be switched off at the usual location:
- Instead, go to "General" in the "Settings"
- There, tap "Accessibility" and "Display adjustments".
- Here you deactivate the switch at "Auto brightness".
Since you have now deactivated the auto brightness, you hardly save any energy with a high brightness setting. Read how you can save your battery on iOS 7.
