Bluetooth connection does not work: exclude interference factors
If a Bluetooth connection cannot be established, there is not necessarily a defect in the device or an incorrect setting. So first make sure that
- there are no metallic objects between your iPhone and the partner device that could interfere with the Bluetooth signal.
- the distance between your iPhone and the partner device is less than 10 m.
- there are no devices such as WLAN routers, microwave ovens, wireless telephones that work in the 2.4 GHz range in the immediate vicinity, as these are capable of significantly interfering with the Bluetooth connection.
Bluetooth connection via iPhone does not work: re-pair devices
If the connection problems could not be solved with the previous check, perform a new pairing between iPhone and partner device:
- Open the settings menu of your iPhone and make sure that the flight mode is switched off: The slide switch "Flight mode" must be on the left (gray button). When flight mode is activated, the iPhone does not transfer data.
- If necessary, remove the partner device from the list of known devices on your iPhone. To do this, tap on the "Bluetooth" entry and then on the blue information symbol (an "i" in a circle) to the right of the respective device name.
- Now tap on the "Ignore this device" option and confirm the deletion by tapping on the "Ignore device" option.
- Disable Bluetooth on your iPhone by sliding the slide switch to the left (the switch will turn gray).
- Then deactivate Bluetooth on the partner device as well.
- Now activate Bluetooth again on the iPhone and only then on the partner device. Make sure that the partner device is also set to "visible".
- To complete the process, confirm the pairing request.
