iPhone: Safari download folder - here you can find it
You won't find a classic download folder on your iPhone. You can of course still download and save PDFs and images with the Safari browser. In this article, we reveal where the data is located and how you can even get a real download manager on your iPhone.
iPhone: download folder for images and PDFs
There is no classic download folder on iOS. Files such as photos or PDFs are saved directly in the associated apps.
- You can save an image in the photo app, for example, by long-tapping on it. A menu opens and you can select the "Save image" option. The file can then be found in the photo app.
- You can also save PDF files on iPhone. To do this, tap the file once and then tap "Open in iBooks" in the top right corner. The PDF is then saved in the "iBooks" app.
- You can also open and save many documents in other apps. To do this, tap the document once and then "Open in ..." at the top left and select the appropriate app.
- For Office files such as Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents, you can use the free Office apps for iOS.
- You can get a file explorer on your iPhone using apps such as FileExplorer. This allows documents from Safari to be opened and saved using the "Open in ..." command in the app.
Get real download manager on iPhone
- You can only get a real download manager on your iPhone with a jailbreak. The cell phone is released from its "shackles" and you can adjust your iPhone according to your wishes.
- We'll show you how to jailbreak iOS 9. Please note, however, that irreparable damage can occur and you are not entitled to a guarantee with such an iPhone. However, the process can be undone in a few steps.
- After the jailbreak you can download and use the "Safari Download Manager" app from the alternative "Cydia" app store.
