iPhone: Save email as PDF - how it works

With Mail for the iPhone or iPad, you need to save emails as PDF to share them in a messenger or save them on your device. We'll explain how to do it.
Hidden function enables PDF export of emails to the iPhone
The pre-installed iOS mail app is very tidy and appears spartan, when it comes to forwarding mails to other programs. Local storage on the device does not seem to be possible either.
- Both functions are integrated in the app, but rather hidden.
- Open an email in the Mail app. Below you can see two buttons for forwarding and deleting the mail. Tap the forward arrow.
- Now scroll down to the "Print" option. Tap on it and a print preview appears.
- When the print preview appears, use two fingers to pull it apart as if you were zooming in on an image. On older iPhones with a 3D touch, you can alternatively press the print preview a little harder to enlarge it.
- Now the conventional share button is also shown, via which you can send a PDF version of the mail.
- You can save the PDF, for example, in your notes or in a cloud service such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
In our next article, we'll show you what can happen if mails are not displayed on your iPhone.
