Set up your own mail folders on iPhone and iPad
- Open the mail app and switch to the desired email account.
- Tap on "Edit" in the top right corner and then select the entry "New Mailbox" in the bottom right corner.
- Give the new folder a name and choose a location. You can either create the folder in the main directory of your mail account or as a subfolder in the inbox.
- Finally, tap "Save".
Link mail folders to existing mailboxes
You can also link your own folder to existing folders in your mailbox. For example, you can forward all sent messages from your mailbox to your own folder.
- Open the Settings app and tap on the menu item "Mail, Contacts, Calendar".
- Select your e-mail account here and tap on the entry "Account".
- In "Advanced" you will find the paragraph "Mailbox behavior". Here you can assign your own folders to existing subjects such as the "waste paper basket" or the "drafts". The emails saved there are then synchronized to the selected folder.
This way you can also create a folder for your most important contacts. Alternatively, mark the people as VIP.
