iPhone: Error 4014 - this may be the reason

Fix error 4014 on iPhone
Typically, the following message appears about the error: "The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error has occurred (4014)."
- Restart: Turn your computer and iPhone completely off and on again. The restart clears errors in the buffer.
- Update: If you are still using a slightly older version of iTunes, this can lead to complications. Start an iTunes update.
- USB: Connect your iPhone to another USB port. Changing the cable can also help.
- PC: If none of this works, use a different computer. The recovery should work there.
