As of iOS 7, the iPhone automatically adjusts background images. You cannot even reduce the size of photos in "wrong" scaling: iOS zooms in until the photo fills the screen. This practical tip explains how you can still use your photos as a background image.
Background image: How to shrink photos on iPhone from iOS 7
To have a photo of the correct size for the screen background, proceed as follows:
- Download the "Wallpaper Fix" app from the app store and start the tool.
- Select the photo for your background under "New" and zoom the image to the desired size.
- Attention: This can also result in black frames or the photo rotated. To get a realistic impression of the background image later, tap the photo once. Now the lower menu disappears almost completely.
- Then select "Save" and call up your normal "Photo" app.
- Find the image you just created and set it as the background image. In the thumbnail preview you see a black frame - tap on the image, but it disappears and the correct background image appears.
