iPhone / iPad: 32- or 64-bit CPU - that's how you find out
Newer iPhones and iPads have the new 64-bit platform instead of a 32-bit CPU. You can easily find out which processor is installed in your iDevice yourself.
iPhone and iPad: 32 or 64 bit?
You can learn a lot about the built-in hardware via the settings app of your iPhone and iPad - but you will not find any information about the CPU and the technology used. A third-party app has to serve here.
- Download the free Lirium Info Lite tool from the App Store and install the app as usual.
- Then start the tool and switch to the "CPU" section.
- There you will find the exact name of your processor next to the entry "CPU Name", for example "Apple A5X".
- You can use the number in the CPU name to infer the built-in architecture. All processors number 7 and higher are 64-bit CPUs, such as "Apple A7X". All other processors are 32-bit models
