iPhone / iPad: sort apps into folders - how it works
To organize your iPad and iPhone, you can sort your apps into different folders. So you always have an overview and can quickly find the app you are looking for. We'll show you how to do it.
Sort apps into folders on iPad and iPhone
If you want to sort two or more apps into a folder, proceed as follows:
- Press and hold the app tile for several seconds until the tiles start shaking.
- Now drag the app tile directly onto the second tile.
- Wait two to three seconds for iOS to recognize the folder feature and thicken the edge of the app. Then you can let go of the tile.
Folder management on your iPhone and iPad
- The two apps are now put together in one folder. You can add other apps to this.
- The folder initially has a name created by iOS, such as "Games".
- You can change this at any time by touching the folder title.
Tip: Sort apps into folders at the same time
You can create order even faster by moving several apps into a folder at the same time:
- Tap and hold an app on the home screen as usual until all apps wiggle.
- Now move an app with one finger and tap all the apps you want to move with another finger.
- The apps are now grouped and can be moved to a folder together.
