iPhone / iPad: compress photos
If you want to compress your photos on your iPhone / iPad, you can do it in a few minutes using software or an app. We'll show you step-by-step how this works in this practical guide.
Compress photos on iPad or iPhone - using software
To compress your photos on your iPhone or iPad, you can use the free ResizeIt app.
- Open the program and navigate to your connected iPhone.
- Select the image or images you want to compress. Then click on the "Open" button.
- In the next step you can define the new size and format and then compress it using "Resize".
- Note: Compression results in a loss of quality in your photos.
Compress photos using the "iDownsize" app
Alternatively, you can also use the iDownsize app:
- Download the iDownsize app (currently 89 cents) to your iPhone / iPad.
- Open the app and select the photo or an entire album.
- Determine the compression level and create a new folder for your compressed images.
- Then start the compression.
