iPhone / iPad: Connect the XBOX controller - how it works
If you want to use your Xbox Controller with your iPhone or iPad, this only works via a small detour. We'll show you exactly what you need to do.
Step 1: Use the Xbox controller on the PC
- First, you need to connect your Xbox controller to the PC. To do this, just install the official driver from Microsoft.
- You can find out how this works in the following practical tip for the Xbox One controller and the Xbox 360 controller.
- You can then use the Xbox Controller on the PC. Now transfer the PC screen to the iPhone and you can start the game on the PC and control it on the iPhone using the Xbox controller.
- However, individual iOS apps cannot be operated with the device. You need a PS3 controller for this.
Step 2: stream desktop to iPhone
In order to stream your desktop to the iPhone or iPad, you need both an app on your iOS device and the appropriate software on your computer.
- The "TeamViewer" software and the associated "TeamViewer Remote Control" are completely free of charge. Alternatively, you can find the "Splashtop Remote" application and the "Splashtop Streamer" software in the App Store.
- If you have installed the app and software, the two devices are usually found automatically. If this is not the case, you must connect the iPhone and PC using the code shown.
- Start the game on your computer and pick up your Xbox controller. You can now remove yourself from your PC and play on the iPhone display.
