iPhone / iPad only shows the apple: How to fix the error
If your iPhone or iPad only shows the apple of the Apple logo, in most cases it is a more serious problem. We'll show you how to fix your iOS device again.
Apple logo: iPhone / iPad only shows the apple
- The Apple logo is only displayed when iOS is started. This is the case when you turn on your iPhone or iPad or restart it after a crash.
- In the best case, this is a system error. However, it can also be a hardware failure that often means the iOS device is dead.
- If an update for iOS has just been installed, there is definitely a software problem. In this case, ignore the last point in the next paragraph.
First aid: iPhone / iPad hangs when starting
- Press and hold the power button on the top or side of the device for several seconds. Usually, however, this does not help.
- Now hold down the power button and the home button at the same time. Hold down the two buttons for up to 20 seconds.
- If this does not help, the start process cannot be interrupted from the outside. In the best case, the iPhone or iPad turns itself off when the battery is empty.
- If the device has just been charged, it may take a few hours for the battery to empty. Since the iOS device works in the background and the display is on, the device should go out after 10 hours at the latest, even when the battery is fully charged.
- You now have two options: Either you wait until the battery runs out, the iPhone or iPad may then function properly again, or you can follow the instructions in the next paragraph. If you have not previously created a backup, this can lead to data loss.
iPhone only shows the apple: reset and repair
Also try the first point of the following instructions if the iPhone or iPad has not yet switched off. If this does not work, wait until the battery is empty and try again. If that doesn't help either, we advise you to go to point two.
- If there is a problem in the software, often only a reset to the factory settings helps. Since your device is not recognized in this mode, try the DFU mode. You can then reinstall your iPhone or iPad and restore your data from a backup.
- If none of this worked, there is a high probability that there is a hardware error or a software problem that you cannot solve yourself. Only an iPhone repair service will help you here, but in the best case, visit an Apple store. An appointment in the Apple Store is sometimes necessary.
