iPhone doesn't charge - what to do?
If the battery of your iPhone no longer charges, everything is possible, from dust deposits to a more serious defect. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
iPhone doesn't charge: You can do that
- In many cases, the charging socket is only clogged with dust. Then the connection has a loose contact or no longer works.
- A compressed air spray, the supplied SIM tool or a toothbrush are best suited for cleaning.
- Use the SIM needle, but pay attention to the contacts. If possible, do not touch them as they scratch quickly.
iPhone does not charge: other approaches
- Cable: Under certain circumstances, only the cable is defective. Just try another cable.
- Deep discharge: If the iPhone has not been used for months or has been exposed to temperatures below freezing for a long time, the device may be completely discharged. In this case, it takes some time before anything happens on the display.
- Repair: If the battery is defective, it must be replaced. If you are still in the warranty period, you can contact Apple on-site at the Apple Store or online. Outside of the guarantee, we recommend replacement at a repair service.
