In order to be able to send large mail attachments on the iPhone, you have to do something tricky, since more than 20 Mbytes are too much for an Apple Mail. This article shows you how you can easily pack and send 100 MB in the attachment of an email.
iPhone mail: Send large attachments - how it works
Previously, you had to use external providers such as Google Drive or Dropbox to send large files. However, this is no longer necessary:
- As of iOS 9.2, you can use Apple's own "Mail Drop" service. The cloud storage is also available for sending mail from Mac and in browsers (via icloud.com).
- To do this, simply write the email and then add the attachment as usual. After a few seconds you will be asked whether you want to send the file via Mail Drop.
- The file is then downloaded to the Apple server and a download link is inserted in the mail.
- The file is then available to everyone for 30 days with the link. In addition, not only the recipient can download it, but you too.
