iPhone message: Not enough space
If your iPhone or iTunes shows you that there is "insufficient space", this can have several reasons. Regardless of where the error occurred, you should follow the instructions in both paragraphs.
iPhone message: Not enough space
- Memory check: First you should check how much memory is still available. To do this, open the "Settings" app and go to "Category" under "General". Here you will also find the biggest memory eaters.
- Large apps: The iPhone usually requires twice as much memory to install very large applications such as navigation apps. If the app is 2 GB in size, you need 4 GB of free space for the app to be installed.
- Tidy up: At some point the largest iPhone will be full. If there is not much space left, you should separate yourself from unnecessary apps, videos and music.
- Cleaning tool: Every app creates a cache, but it is never emptied. With programs like PhoneClean you can usually clean up your iPhone by several hundred MByte. This is just data garbage that is not required.
iTunes: Not enough space
Connect your iPhone to your computer and iTunes reports the same error, although you still have a lot of free space, the problem is in syncing.
- Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable and start iTunes.
- Select your device in the top right and switch to the "Music", "Movies" or "Photos" tab. Disable synchronization and click "Apply" in the lower right corner.
- Now connect the device to the PC again and wait until the message appears again. If not, you can reactivate the synchronization of one category. If the message continues to appear, follow the next steps.
- Go to the Overview tab at the top and scroll down.
- Deselect the option "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and activate the option "Only sync selected titles and videos".
- Click Apply at the bottom right and see if the error recurs. If so, reduce the amount of music to be synced.
