If you have persistent problems with your iPhone, it often helps to re-set the iOS device. It's easy with iTunes: you can either import a backup or - if that doesn't help - reset your iPhone to the factory settings.
1st possibility: Set up iPhone again via iTunes
- When restarting, the iPhone is reset to the factory settings, the operating system (iOS) is reloaded and - if desired - you can immediately restore your backup to the device. However, an inserted SIM card is absolutely necessary.
- Start iTunes and connect your iPhone to the PC with a USB cable.
- Select the device in iTunes and make a backup copy of your data under "Backups" by clicking on "Back up now".
- You can backup your apps separately using the "Backup apps" option.
- Then click on the "Restore iPhone" button in the overview and confirm the process in the next window by clicking on "Restore".
- After the process is complete, you can import your backup or configure the device as a new iPhone.
Option 2: Replace iPhone directly on the device
- Alternatively, you can set up your iPhone again without iTunes. However, you should also create a backup for this first.
- To do this, open the settings and tap on "iCloud". Activate all displayed data and apps and select the item "Storage & Backup". Activate iCloud backup.
- Tap "Back up now" to back up your data wirelessly.
- Now select the "General" menu item in the settings and tap on the "Reset" option.
- Click the "Delete content & settings" button and confirm the process.
- After resetting, you can restore your iCloud backup in the configuration process.
