Defective iPhone power button: Switch off iPhone without a button
By default, you can only switch off your iPhone using the power button. If this is defective, you have to do it differently. We'll show you how to shut down your smartphone anyway.
Assistive Touch: Switch off the iPhone without a power button
- Start the Settings app and tap on "General".
- Open the "Accessibility". Activate the setting of the same name in the "Assistive Touch" area.
- A small circle appears on the edge of the screen. Tap it to open the wizard.
- Select "Device" and then press and hold the "Lock screen" button. The familiar switch-off dialog appears. Swipe left to right to turn off your device.
