Open iPhone yourself - so it'll work
If you want to do without an expensive repair of your iPhone, you can open and repair the device yourself. We'll show you how to do it step by step. However, please note that your warranty will be void if you repair your iPhone yourself.
Open iPhone yourself: you have to consider that
- You need the right tool to open your iPhone. The following tool set includes a suction cup and special screwdrivers.
- Make sure your iPhone is completely turned off and not just in standby mode. To avoid damage, you should first remove the SIM card.
- Before you start, you should also ground yourself. While this is not absolutely necessary, you are playing it safe. Simply touch something metallic, for example a heater. Your static charge is thus derived.
- Note: For the iPhone 6S, the display was additionally glued for the first time. In order for the adhesive to come off, you need to heat the iPhone 6S carefully and only briefly with a hair dryer. Try it with a little heat and increase it if it doesn't work.
