Since iOS 8, Apple has increasingly focused on the share menu or the share button. We'll show you some iPhone tricks to help you share content on your iPhone or iPad more effectively.
iPhone: Customize the share menu
By default, the share menu is always the same. Apple positions its own apps at the top and turns off other apps. You can change this:
- For example, open Safari and tap the Share button below.
- Swipe left in the bottom line and you will find the "More" button.
- Here you can activate additional apps for sharing content that have not yet been displayed.
- It is also possible to change the previous arrangement. To do this, hold the desired option on the right and move it.
Share button: integrate and deactivate apps
- The above instructions also work for the top line of the share menu. Here you will mainly find apps for activation, deactivation and personalized arrangement.
- Applications such as "Messages" and "Mail" can only be moved backwards and not deactivated. WhatsApp is deactivated by default, although links can be quickly shared with it.
- Some apps also offer several sharing options. In this case, you can decide whether to use both options or to limit yourself to one of the two.
iPhone Share Button: Other apps, other options
- In almost every app, the share menu looks a little different. Depending on the application, other actions are important or interesting.
- For example, if you open the Share menu in the Photo app, the arrangement of the apps in the top line is the same. Tap on "More" here, but you will find other apps such as Snapchat for activation there.
- The lower line of the Share menu is also adapted to the photo app. The options "Print", "Slideshow" and "As Background" provide you with shortcuts to frequently used functions.
Share Button: Share texts on the iPhone
- Text can also be shared easily using the share button. Simply open an app such as Mail, Safari or Notes and mark a text.
- Next to "Copy" and "Lookup", select the "Share" option. Here the text can now be sent directly by email, WhatsApp, Facebook and Co. or can also be converted into a calendar entry.
