iPhone: set spam filter
Setting a spam filter in the iPhone - is that possible? We want to answer this question in our tip.
Are there spam filters in the iPhone?
Unfortunately, no. Email filtering is not possible with the iOS email app. But there are other ways to keep your iPhone spam free.
- You use the spam filter of your mail provider.
- You pick up your mails with an iOS app that can filter spam.
1. Filter spam on the server
Block unwanted emails on the server of your mail provider. The spam filters are reliable and pre-installed. You can of course add your own rules. Since an email could be incorrectly marked as spam, you should check the spam folder on the server at regular intervals.
2. Filter spam using the iOS app
The ibisMail free iOS app allows you to set up your own spam filter.
- Block senders, for example
- Filter emails with specific words or phrases in the subject
As with Outlook on your computer, you first have to set up the filters. Only gradually will only the messages in your inbox remain that you also want to open. The better option is to filter the mails on the server. Any unwanted mail that you do not download to your iPhone saves data volume and the limited storage space on your iDevice.
