iPhone: voice memo as ringtone - so it'll work
If you find the ringtone on your iPhone too boring, you can also use a voice memo. Unfortunately, you can't do without a computer here:
Use voice memo as ringtone on iPhone
- Open the voice memo app and send the created memo by email to one of your email addresses.
- Then open the email on your computer and save the audio file. Alternatively, you can manually transfer the voice memo to the PC.
- Then change the file name of the audio file from ".m4a" to ".m4r".
- If you open the file with iTunes, the file will be saved in the tones.
- Then connect your iPhone to the computer and load the audio file onto the iPhone.
- You can generally change the ringtone in the "Settings" under Tones on your iPhone or set it up for a specific contact.
- In order to change the ringtone for a single contact, you have to edit it and select your memo under "Ringtone".
