Build iPhone tripod yourself - a guide
We are going to provide you with a guide that you can use to easily build your own iPhone tripod.
You need that for your iPhone tripod
To make your iPhone tripod work, you need some utensils that you can find almost everywhere. For this reason, it is also particularly easy to build the tripod. We show you what you should take:
- An empty plastic gum box.
- A scissors.
- A pen.
- A ruler.
- A piece of cardboard.
How to build your own iPhone tripod yourself
Of course there are countless ways to build your own tripod for your iPhone. We present our highlight to you.
- Pick up the ruler and measure your iPhone. Write down both the depth and width of your smartphone.
- Then grab the empty plastic gum box and turn it upside down. The opening of the can should now be at the bottom.
- Now draw two marks on the underside of the can. The markings should be exactly opposite and have the following dimensions: a) They should each be as wide as the cell phone depth and b) They should be as deep as approximately one third of the iPhone width.
- Now connect these two markings together and take the scissors at hand. Cut out the marked mark completely.
- Your empty chewing gum can now has a slot that you can practically insert the iPhone into. Therefore, make sure that you have precisely measured and marked and cut everything out beforehand. Also remember not to let the gap get too big, otherwise the iPhone won't find a hold.
- The best way to test the tripod is to insert the iPhone into it and cut something if necessary.
- You can now decorate the tripod with bright colors according to your mood.
- If necessary, attach a piece of cardboard or something similar to the chewing gum opening so that you can move the tripod back and forth more easily afterwards.
The self-made iPhone tripod in use
When using your iPhone tripod, please note the following:
- If you want to turn the tripod, you can open the chewing gum can at the bottom and vary how inclined the tripod should be. This way you can get different heights. However, be sure to hold the tripod firmly or weigh it down so that the iPhone does not tip over.
- If the tripod is too small for you, simply stick several chewing gum tins on top of each other and remove them depending on the working height. This way you are significantly more flexible.
