Spotlight search for iPhone or iPad
- Spotlight no longer only searches on your iPhone under iOS 8, but also shows you content from apps and the Internet.
- If you make an entry in the Spotlight search, not only messages, songs, notes and apps are filtered, but also new apps and information from the Internet are also displayed. This can also include restaurants, supermarkets or petrol stations in your area.
- For example, if you search for "Indiana Jones", not only will a Wikipedia entry appear, but also the iTunes media library or a cinema show near you.
- Spotlight search is a good alternative to Siri. In this way, you can save yourself talking on your iPhone in many cases.
From iOS 8: How to start the Spotlight search
- Place your finger on the center of the screen and then drag it down.
