iPhone: Different ringtones for contacts
You can assign different ringtones to contacts on your iPhone. We'll show you where to find the default ringtone settings on your device and how to assign different ringtones to friends.
iPhone: Ringtone default settings
- Go to the "Settings" in the start menu and tap on "Sounds" below.
- Under Tones and Vibration Patterns, tap Ringtone.
- The one selected here is your default ringtone. This is used for callers for whom you do not change the specific ringtone settings.
iPhone: Change the ringtone of an individual contact
Go to "Contacts" via "Phone" in the start menu.
- Tap on the respective contact for whom you want to set your own ringtone.
- In the contact's profile window, tap "Edit" in the top right corner.
- Now scroll down and tap on "Ringtone Standard".
- Instead of the automatically selected standard ringtone, you can now select a different ringtone for this contact in the "Ringtones" section. Tap the desired ringtone.
- Confirm the change at the top right with "Done".
