If your iPhone gets too hot, there can be several reasons. We'll show you what you can do to prevent your iPhone from overheating.
iPhone gets hot - what to do?
If your iPhone gets too hot quickly, check the following things:
- Power : If the iPhone gets too hot during operation, put it aside for a few minutes or switch it off.
- Case : With some cases, the heat builds up so that your iPhone quickly gets very warm. Use the device without a case to test whether the protection does not harm your mobile phone. Change the cover if necessary.
- Apps : If you put too much pressure on your iPhone (when charging), it quickly gets hot. If possible, close all applications that run in the background or use a GPS signal. To do this, press the Home button twice in a row or swipe up from the bottom on newer iPhones.
- Brightness : Due to the strong sunshine, the display automatically sets itself to the maximum brightness in summer. This places a higher load on the battery and the temperature inside rises. It may therefore be worthwhile to deactivate the auto brightness.
- LTE / 4G : If you are not connected to the WLAN but via the mobile network, this can also cause increased temperatures in the iPhone. Especially if you are in the LTE network and the reception is rather poor. Then the iPhone tries to compensate for the weak signal by increasing the transmission power. If you can do without it, temporarily switch off 4G.
- Reset : If your iPhone continues to struggle with heat problems, a reset can help. If the system no longer runs smoothly due to a software problem, too much power is being called up, which causes excessive heat generation. If nothing works anymore, reset the iPhone to factory settings.
iPhone gets hot - you should pay attention to that
To keep your iPhone from overheating, there are a few things you should watch out for:
- When the iPhone is charged, the smartphone gets warmer anyway. If your iPhone gets hot quickly, you should not use it while it is charging.
- Games, in particular, put a lot of stress on the devices, so that there is greater heat development.
- Never put the iPhone directly in the sun. Dark surfaces heat up particularly quickly.
