Reinstall iPhoto - Here's how
If you have problems with iPhoto, you should reinstall the program. We show you step by step how to do this.
Reinstall iPhoto
- Uninstall iPhoto using the "System Preferences" on your Mac and wait for the process to finish.
- Then open the Finder and enter "iphoto" in the search field. Then delete all iPhoto folders. However, make sure that there are no more pictures in the folders. You should save them in advance at another location - for example on an external hard drive.
- Now download the Freeware Pacifist and install it. Start the tool after installation.
- In the main menu select "Search Receipts" and then enter "iPhoto" in the search field.
- The search opens. Select "/ Applications / iPhoto" and click on "Extract selected files" below. Then choose a folder to unzip.
- You can then start installing iPhoto. To do this, simply open the extracted file.
- Alternatively, you can also use your Mac's installation DVD.
- Insert this and start from the DVD. There you can search for "iPhoto" under "Applications" and install the program.
With some problems, it also helps to repair the iPhoto library. You will find instructions on how to do this in the next article.
