If your iPod no longer charges, there is usually a defect in the device or accessories. In this practical tip, we will show you how to find the problem and then solve it.
iPod: battery no longer charges - you can do that
- Regardless of whether iPod, iPod touch, iPod mini or iPod shuffle: First check the charging accessories from the iPod. Use a different USB cable and a different power adapter. The connection to the computer can also help.
- If the problem is not with the charging accessories, in the best case only the connection is blocked. Open a paper clip and carefully remove all lint and other dirt from the charging socket.
iPod no longer charges: repair or replacement
- Unfortunately, you cannot do more with your iPod. If the iPod is still under warranty, repairs by Apple are free of charge.
- To do this, contact the Apple support hotline or book an appointment in the Apple Store.
- Outside of the warranty, repairing many devices no longer makes sense. If the cause is the battery, the repair is comparatively cheap. If there is another defect, you may pay for a repair that does not help you.
