iPod Touch no longer comes on - you can do that
There are a number of reasons why your iPod touch may not turn on. We show you the most common causes and the appropriate solutions to the problem.
iPod touch does not come on: deep discharge battery?
- If you have not used your iPod Touch for several days or weeks, the battery can discharge completely - so much that even the display cannot be shown if the battery is empty.
- Very cold temperatures can accelerate this process. Connect the device to the power supply and wait a few minutes. The iPod should now come on again. The battery usually takes very little damage.
iPod touch no longer starts: carry out a reset
- Hold down the home button and the power button simultaneously for a few seconds. A soft reset is carried out, which can get the device out of a possible error state.
- Connect your iPod Touch to the computer with a USB cable and start iTunes. If the device is not recognized here, try starting DFU mode and then resetting the iPod.
Guarantee: iPod Touch no longer works
- If the iPod Touch is still under warranty, the repair or replacement is usually free of charge. Of course, this only applies if the iPod has not been damaged by negligence.
- You can check Apple's warranty status here. If the guarantee has expired, repairs become expensive.
- If the error is on the display, an exchange costs between 50 and 100 euros. If the error affects another area of the iPod Touch, it may not be possible to repair it. With older devices, changing the display is often no longer worthwhile.
In the next practical tip, we will show you whether it is worth switching from iPod Touch 5G to 6G.
