Use IrfanView via Wine - how it works
Wine is a well-known program for getting Windows applications up and running on Linux. You can find out how to install it in this practical tip.
- After installing Wine you have to download IrfanView as an ".exe file" and the file "mfc42.dll". A Google search provides the necessary files.
- Then save both downloaded files in the same folder. Now click with the right mouse button on the ".exe file" from IrfanView, click on "open with" and then select "Wine".
- Now carry out the installation as you are used to under Windows. After setting up, IrfanView opens.
- If you want to open IrfanView again, go to the installation path and click twice with the mouse on the ".exe file". Then IrfanView is started.
