Set up an iTunes account for children - you should note that
If you also want to give your children access to Apple products, there are a few things you should consider when setting up your iTunes account. We show you what you should value.
Tips for setting up an iTunes account for children
- You can confidently create your own account for your children with their files. However, Apple only allows accounts for children aged 13 and over. If your child is under the age of 12, you have to decide for yourself whether you should still set up an account for your child with another year of birth.
- You should be particularly careful when it comes to balances. Set up the account without a credit card. We show you how this works in this practical tip. You should only load credit into the account using gift cards. Thanks to the prepaid system, there are no nasty surprises when billing later.
- If you don't want your child to spend their money only on iTunes gift cards at the nearest supermarket, you can keep the account password to themselves.
- Depending on the age of the child, you can loosen the regulations somewhat or tighten them. For the little ones, for example, you should completely ban access to the App Store and install apps together with them. From a certain age, you can also give the account password to your children. In addition, it is advisable to set a monthly amount that your children can spend.
