iTunes: merge albums
In this practical tip, we explain how to combine albums in iTunes. You can summarize multiple album covers in iTunes using the methods mentioned here.
iTunes: Combine albums into compilations
Open iTunes on your PC.
- Select the albums you want to join in the album view. Hold down the Ctrl key and click on all the albums you want to combine.
- Right-click on the marker and select "Information" from the open menu.
- Confirm your intention to change via "Edit objects".
- In the window that now opens, click on the "Options" tab and check "Part of a compilation". Select "Yes" from the drop-down menu next to this option.
- Confirm with OK".
Edit metadata
Unfortunately, the described method does not always work. Often you have to edit the metadata of the individual tracks and enter the same information under "Album" and "Album artist".
- Right-click on one of the titles to be merged and select "Information".
- At this point, select the "Info" tab.
- Under "Album" and "Album artist" you should insert the same information in all titles to be merged.
- Always save the changes with "OK".
- Then try the method in the first section again.
Note that the labels in the metadata fields must be identical.
