iTunes: exclamation point before songs - what to do?
If an exclamation mark appears in iTunes before a song, iTunes could no longer find it. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Exclamation point before iTunes songs - so you fix the error
If you have deleted a song or moved it to another location, iTunes cannot find it without your help. Find the song on your hard drive or in the trash for now.
- If you double click on the song, a small window opens.
- Here click on the "Search" button and navigate to the new location of the music.
- Select the song and click the "Open" button. Then iTunes recognizes the song again and the exclamation mark has disappeared.
- Note: If an entire album or folder has disappeared, iTunes will ask you after step 3 whether you want to search for the other songs in the same folder. This will save you a lot of work.
