iTunes: restore backup - how it works
If your iPhone or iPad goes on strike, you can restore the system at any time with a backup from iTunes. How to reset your device to the last working state. We'll explain how to do it.
Reset iPhone and iPad via iTunes backup
To reset your iDevice you need a suitable backup, of course. Fortunately, iTunes makes a new backup every time it syncs. How to import this:
- Open iTunes and connect your iOS device to the computer.
- A new point with your device name appears in the status bar on the right. Click on it to open the synchronization menu.
- Select the entry "Restore backup" here (see picture). iTunes now automatically imports the last backup of your device.
- Now you have to wait: Depending on the size of the backup, the restoration can take a few minutes. Do not disconnect your iDevice until iTunes prompts you to do so. Otherwise important data can be lost.
Alternatively, you can also import a backup from iCloud. For whom this is worthwhile and how to activate the necessary settings, you will find out in this article.
