iTunes: Display and set bit rate
This practical tip shows you how to display and set the bit rate (sample rate) of the audio playback in iTunes.
How to set the bit rate in iTunes
- To set the bit rate of the audio playback, you must first call up the settings window. In the Windows version you will find this under the "File" tab or under the triangle in the upper left corner of the window. On Mac, just click "iTunes" in the menu bar at the top left.
- Now switch to the "Playback" section. The setting option for the bit rate of the audio playback can then be found in the lower area of the window (see picture).
- You can set values between 44.1 kHz and 192 kHz. Depending on which bit rate or sampling rate your sound card supports.
