iTunes: You must open these ports
If some functions in iTunes are not executed correctly, you must open the correct ports in the firewall or router. We show you which ports are involved.
Share ports for iTunes - Here's how
- iTunes uses the services ports 80 (TCP), 443 (TCP), 3698 (TCP), 8000-8999 (TCP) and 42000-42999 (TCP) with its services. The UDP ports also used do not have to be released.
- You must enable the iTunes ports in the firewall under Windows. Here you will find suitable instructions. If you have installed an additional firewall, approval is required there.
- If some functions continue to be blocked, this may be related to other Apple services. On the following Apple website you will find all important ports and their affiliations.
In the next practical tip, we will show you how to reinstall iTunes in the event of problems.
