iTunes downloads slow - you can do that
A slow download in iTunes is often annoying. We'll show you a trick you can use to speed up slow downloads.
iTunes downloads slow - solution for Mac
To make iTunes download faster on your Mac again, there is the following trick:
- First open the "System Preferences" on your Mac and there the settings for the "Network".
- Select "More options" and finally "DNS".
- Now you need your browser. Open this page and choose any DNS server. The Google DNS server is always online and reliably fast.
- Then enter this information in the field under "DNS" and "Alternative DNS".
- Finally, you must enter the "sudo dscacheutil –flushcache" command in the terminal so that the DNS cache is cleared. This is how you start the terminal in Mac OS.
- Then the downloads should run faster again.
Downloads on iTunes slow - solution for Windows
- Open the start menu and type "cmd" in the search field below.
- Then right-click on "cmd" and then select "Run as administrator". Confirm this process.
- Then enter the command "ipconfig / flushdns" and confirm with [Enter].
- After this is done, enter "ipconfig / renew". Confirm again with [Enter].
- Then the cache was cleared and the DNS configuration was carried out again. The downloads should now be faster again under iTunes.
