iTunes error 9006: what to do?
ITunes error 9006 appears when backing up or restoring a mobile Apple device. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Eliminate iTunes error 9006
Error 9006 reports that the connection to the Apple servers is interrupted. Updates or the iOS to restore your iPhone or iPad cannot be loaded. The following procedures can correct the problem:
- Restart iTunes: The easiest way is to restart iTunes. Also remove the device from the computer and try again.
- Deactivate anti-virus program: In many cases, the anti-virus program blocks the connection. Deactivate it for a short moment.
- Disable firewall: The firewall is also a common cause. You can find out how to switch them off in this practical tip.
- Configure router: Check whether your router has enabled ports 80 and 443. If these are blocked, the connection cannot be established.
- Release server: The following servers should also not be blocked in the firewall: phobos.apple.com, deimos3.apple.com, albert.apple.com, gs.apple.com, itunes.apple.com, ax.itunes.apple .com.
- Alternatively, update: If nothing helps, change the computer if possible or carry out the update yourself via the iPhone. Read here how it works.
- Apple's servers may also be overloaded. But this is only likely if a new iOS has just been released.
