Fix iTunes error 5000 - Here's how
If error 5000 occurs in iTunes, you cannot synchronize the desired music with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Fix error 5000 in iTunes
- Restart: First restart your computer completely. Even restarting the iOS device cannot hurt.
- Update: Also perform an iTunes update. This eliminates problems caused by outdated software.
- Media library: If you have saved your music in several locations, this can cause problems. In this case, put all of your music in the folder "C: \ Users \ yourname \ Music \ iTunes".
- CopyTrans Manager: If the instructions in the next paragraph do not help, you can download your music to iPhone without iTunes. Use the CopyTrans Manager, for example.
iTunes: Security software causes error 5000
- In some cases, other software can block the connection between iTunes and iOS device. The synchronization then stops with error 5000.
- Therefore, temporarily switch off all anti-virus programs and firewalls you have installed. Start the synchronization again.
- Error 5000 can also occur in connection with a software update. Deactivating the security programs is also worthwhile here.
