iTunes error 5002 - what to do?
Error 5002 occurs when an incorrect connection to the iTunes store is established. In this guide, we will show you how to solve the problem.
iTunes: Fix error 5002
The error often occurs in terms of payment, the full text of the message reads: "Your request to the iTunes Store could not be completed. An unknown error has occurred (5002)."
- Open the Apple Store website and select "Edit Apple ID and Password" under the "Account Settings" category.
- Then log in to your Apple account. You can see the "Payment information" relatively high up.
- Click here on the "Edit" button and delete or change your payment information.
- Your settings are saved using the "Save" button. Then restart iTunes and try to perform the faulty process again.
- Note: If iTunes now works again, you can add or change the payment information again.
iTunes: Reset cache
If the previous instructions did not lead to success, you still have to reset the cache.
- Open iTunes and select "Settings" from the "Edit" category in the menu bar at the top. If you don't see the menu bar, press the Ctrl + B keys at the same time.
- Go to the "Advanced" tab above and click the "Reset cache" button here.
- Now wait a moment for the process to finish. Then close the window with "OK" and restart iTunes.
- It is also recommended to reinstall iTunes on your system.
