Top up iTunes credit - how does it work?
Instead of buying music and apps via credit card in iTunes, you can also top up your credit with gift cards. We have summarized here how this works on the PC and on the go.
Top up iTunes credit: buy gift cards or order online
Before you can top up your iTunes credit, you must first buy the credit.
- You can buy iTunes gift cards at local supermarkets such as Edeka, Rewe, Penny or Sky. The cards are also available in many petrol stations for 15, 25, 50 or 100 euros.
- You can also order the gift cards directly from Apple, but delivery takes 3 to 5 days. You can find the link to the Apple Shop and the voucher cards here.
- If you would like to receive your credit immediately, you can also use the iTunesCode.com service. Here you pay a surcharge of two euros per card, but you will receive the code by email immediately after payment. You can pay via PayPal, GiroPay, PaysafeCard or Sofortüberweisung.

- Start iTunes on your computer and click the "iTunes Store" button at the top right of the screen.
- On the right side you will see the category "Everything at a glance". There is the "Redeem" option.
- Now log in with your Apple ID and password.
- Then enter the code of the gift card and press the "Redeem" button. The credit is now on your account.
