iTunes: Music download interrupted - troubleshooting guide
If your music or film download is interrupted on iTunes, this can have various causes. In this article you can read how you can continue the download easily and without further costs.
Windows and Mac: Continue iTunes download
First, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. The latest version can be found here for Windows and Mac. Then proceed as follows:
- Open iTunes and select "Search for available downloads ..." from the "Store" menu.
- If you can't find the option, click this link.
- Now enter your account name and password and then click on "Check".
- All missing purchases will now be downloaded and displayed in the "Purchases" playlist.
- If an error message is displayed, check your internet connection and temporarily deactivate the firewall.
- When iTunes is restarted, the loading process is then automatically resumed.
iTunes on iPhone / iPad: continue music download
If you bought a song or album on the go and the download was interrupted, proceed as follows:
- Open the iTunes app on iPhone or iPad.
- Then tap on "More" and open "Downloads".
- Now log in with Apple ID and password and then tap on the blue arrow next to the title to continue the download.
- If you still cannot complete the download, you must download the title to your computer (see instructions above) and then synchronize with your iDevice.
