iTunes update fails - what to do?
If your iTunes update is not working properly and is failing, there are several ways to fix the problem. In this practical tip, we will show you how to do it.
iTunes update keeps failing
Apple Software regularly checks the availability of new updates for iTunes, Quicktime or other programs with a small additional program. It can happen that several programs want to update themselves. However, iTunes often has a problem with it and the update fails.
Update iTunes - how to fix the problem
The problem is that there are several updates at the same time. To install the updates one at a time and fix the problem, follow the steps below.
- Check for new updates in iTunes to open the Apple Software Update tool.
- There you will see several updates listed. However, just select the update from iTunes and uncheck all other checkmarks.
- Install this update and then perform the steps again for the other updates. So you install the updates component by component.
Alternatively: Reinstall current iTunes
If you cannot solve the problem with the above steps, you can also reinstall the current version of iTunes.
- First uninstall iTunes from your computer. Get help removing iTunes from your Mac here.
- Then go to the Apple iTunes page and download the latest version of iTunes by simply clicking on "Download now".
