If you want to watch ITV in Germany, this is not so easy. Because the British TV network ITV actually only works in Great Britain. In this practical tip we show you which options you still have.
Watch ITV in Germany
The TV network ITV is made up of the channels ITV, ITV 2, ITV 3, ITV 4, ITV Be and CITV, on which, in addition to series, films and children's programs, other entertainment programs and documentaries are also broadcast. However, the offer is aimed exclusively at viewers in the UK. Accordingly, you cannot receive it directly in Germany. This applies to both the official live streams and the online media library.
- In order to be able to access the ITV programs from Germany, you must have a British IP address. You can get this by using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that offers servers in the UK.
- Since you need the fastest possible data connection for streaming videos, we recommend VPN services that are subject to a fee. Before you subscribe, you should try a free trial if possible to ensure that the provider you choose is also suitable for streaming ITV.
- Also note that you need to create a free user account on the ITV website to stream the channels. To do this, you must provide a valid UK postcode, among other things, which can be found quickly on the Internet.
- However, please note: Streaming via VPN is a legal gray area. We therefore advise against this and recommend that you watch films and series on streaming services such as Netflix, Maxdome and Amazon Video.
Stream ITV via third party providers
Alternatively, you can stream all ITV channels via the provider Filmon. However, the offer is not free, without a paid subscription you can only watch every channel for two minutes.
- You currently pay around 15 euros per month for the subscription (as of November 2018), but you can receive and even record many other channels in addition to ITV.
